ENCHANTED FOREST

The Enchanted Forest of Parauta is a magical 3 km round-trip trail that winds among the centuries-old chestnut trees of the Genal Valley, in the Serranía de Ronda. Opened in 2022, it features colorful sculptures carved in winter by local artisan Diego Guerrero: gnomes, fairies, wizards, an imposing Pegasus, and the famous Wishing Fountain, guarded by a little frog.

The path, easy and accessible even for strollers or people with reduced mobility, can be completed in about an hour and a half. The experience is especially beautiful in autumn, when golden and red leaves transform the forest into a living postcard.

The village of Parauta, with its Moorish cobbled streets and the small esparto chairs on façades—said to rest fairies—adds to the atmosphere of fantasy. The Enchanted Forest is an ideal family outing that blends nature, art, and legend in a rural setting of extraordinary charm.
