RONDA

From the Puente Nuevo Viewpoint you can access one of the most unique spots to admire the Tajo de Ronda, the deep gorge that splits the city in two. Carved by the Guadalevín River over millions of years, the Tajo reaches more than 100 meters in depth and is one of Andalusia’s most iconic landscapes. From this viewpoint, you can see how the historic city sits on the edge of the cliff, with hanging houses that seem to defy gravity.

In the distance stands the Puente Nuevo, an impressive 18th-century engineering feat that connects the old town with Ronda’s more modern side. The Arab Gate, a vestige of the city’s Andalusi past, frames this unique panorama where nature and history intertwine.

It is an ideal place to understand Ronda’s geography and to enjoy a spectacular view of its surroundings. Declared a Natural Monument and included as a Protected Natural Area, the site has been enhanced through the creation of the Tajo Gorge Walk, which allows visitors to cross the ravine from a perspective never seen before.
