TOLOX SIERRA VIEWPOINT
Located on a hill about 5 kilometers from Tolox and around 700 meters above sea level, this viewpoint offers a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of some of the most iconic landscapes of the Sierra de las Nieves National Park. From here, visitors can admire the dense Spanish fir (pinsapo) forests —an endemic species of the area—, the dramatic cliffs of Tajo de la Caína, the imposing silhouette of Torrecilla Peak at 1,919 meters, and the complete profile of the mountain range. To the south, the view opens over the Guadalhorce Valley and, on clear days, extends as far as the Bay of Málaga and the Mediterranean Sea in the background. All this makes the site one of the most privileged and accessible viewpoints in the park.
Built with local stone, the viewpoint blends harmoniously into its surroundings. It is also an excellent bird-watching spot, where visitors can observe both resident species —such as the peregrine falcon or the short-toed eagle— and migratory birds crossing between Europe and Africa.
