HOUSE MUSEUM
The Tolox Museum of Popular Arts, which also serves as the town’s tourist office, is located on a street adjacent to Plaza Alta, in the heart of the municipality. Opened in 1992, this museum occupies a restored historic house that, across its two floors, offers a journey through the everyday life and local traditions of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The exhibition includes original furniture, household utensils, agricultural tools, photographs from the 1950s, and numerous objects that reveal what life in historic Tolox was like. Among the rooms, the bedroom stands out with its typical wool mattress bed, a cradle, a missal, traditional espadrilles, and a typical Tolox costume. In the dining room, in addition to the furniture, visitors can see a collection of old toys, vintage radios, and a ration book. The kitchen preserves unique elements such as a coffee roaster, spice containers, salt grinding stones, and antique irons.
The tourist office, located in the same building, provides visitors with useful information about Tolox, as well as hiking routes through the Sierra de las Nieves National Park.
