The landscape

The landscape of Villa de Ves, as seen from the Sanctuary lookout, is simply breathtaking and stands as one of the most dramatic vistas in the entire province of Albacete. From this vantage point, perched high above the abyss, one can behold the extreme narrowing of the Júcar River and the El Molinar reservoir resting at its feet.

The view encompasses towering limestone canyons that rise vertically, creating a landscape of overwhelming visual power. This perspective reveals the almost impossible location of the old village of Villa de Ves, precariously perched on a rocky spur.

This lookout is an exceptional natural resource for witnessing the sheer erosive force of water. It offers an environment of absolute peace, where the only sound is the flight of birds of prey. It truly represents the essence of La Manchuela’s wild nature at its most spectacular and remote.
