Giner House

Built in 1914 and located on Carrer Major, this Valencian modernist building consists of three floors, including the ground floor, which was used for commercial activity, while the upper floors were intended for residential use. The most striking element is its viewpoint on the elliptical corner facing Plaça Parroquial, formed by a semi-detached elliptical tower originally topped with a metal-roofed dome without a drum, now lost.

Numerous elements decorate this colourful façade. Leaves, flowers and an anagram held by angels with the initials of Ángel Giner, the owner, are details that reflect the economic strength of the period.

It became a landmark shop serving northern Castelló and southern Tarragona. Its level of stock and variety gave rise to the saying “You can find everything at Casa Ángel.” From the late 19th century to the early 20th, Vinaròs experienced a period of significant commercial expansion. As a result, today we can enjoy modernist buildings such as this one, the Casa Sendra, and the market.
