Membrillera House

Commonly known as the “Casa dels Membrillera” or “Casa de les Coroneles”.

This 18th-century Renaissance house features a ground floor with an entrance hall, a main noble floor, and an attic level with five semicircular-arched windows. The Casa Membrillera belonged to one of the most distinguished families of the local Vinaròs nobility. It still preserves the coat of arms of its former owner, the Marquis of Gironella. Interestingly, the ashlar stone to the right of the entrance, dated 1652, did not originally belong to the façade.

Recently restored, the building currently houses the Caixa Vinaròs Foundation. Its interior aims to reflect the city’s economic past through permanent exhibitions on agriculture, trade, industry and fishing.
