Sendra House
Located in Plaça Jovellar, this residential building in the Valencian modernist style reflects the economic growth experienced by the local bourgeoisie of the period.
The building was constructed in 1912 on the commission of Antoni Sendra Bonet, an important metallurgy industrialist. The cast-iron railings and the rich decoration featuring flowers, musical scores and instruments are characteristic elements of this style.
The economic development of Vinaròs was boosted by the construction of the railway in 1867 and the port in 1875, which facilitated wine exports and supported a flourishing related industry.
The patents and inventions of the Sendra foundry received awards at several international exhibitions.
