Historic Xàbia

Ca Lambert

This building, currently used for cultural activities, was built during the second half of the 19th century (1857) following the “academic” styles and trends of that period. It belonged to a wealthy family from Xàbia’s agricultural bourgeoisie, and at the beginning of the 20th century it housed the Tena pharmacy, which operated until the 1980s. During the rehabilitation process, two houses on Pastores Street were added to the original building; these preserve characteristics of the late-Gothic parcel system: plots of just over 30 m², as well as some architectural elements probably from the 16th century, such as the semicircular arched doorway and the upper floor window, all made of “tosca” stone. These elements were recovered and incorporated into the new construction.
