Bourgeois residence

late 19th century

House No. 9 is a fine example of eclectic architecture that incorporates Neoclassical elements, such as the pilasters and capitals framing the façade and the entrance with its semicircular arch. The distinctive feature of this property is the ornamentation carved in rough stone. The house was built for one of the daughters of Josep Antoni Bolufer and originally extended to the rear section facing Carrer Major. It was erected over a former Gothic house, as can be seen on the façade facing Carrer Major, where a semicircular arched doorway with voussoirs was revealed during restoration work. The main floor room overlooking this street is decorated with mural paintings that make reference to the arts: architecture, writing and music.
