Punta del Arenal Viewpoint

From this viewpoint, you can see ‘Punta de l’Arenal’, a site that dates back to the Roman era. In the second half of the 1st century BC, a significant Roman settlement flourished at the northern end of this beach, in the area now known as ‘Caleta del Ministre’. A large rock-cut basin, known as the ‘Queen’s Baths’ (Banys de la Reina), still remains. The production of salted fish and fish sauces was likely the primary economic activity of the site.
