Historic Xàbia
Soler Blasco Archaeological and Etnographic MuseumThis palace-house hosts the Xàbia Museum. It is one of the town’s most emblematic buildings. It was built in the first half of the 17th century as a residence for Antonio Bañuls, born in Xàbia and steward of King Philip III. It features an impressive façade of “tosca” stone and porches on the upper floor. Although the interior was transformed in the 19th century, it retains the original clay tile flooring. On the upper floor, dedicated to underwater archaeology, there is a rich collection of pieces recovered from the coast of Xàbia, spanning from the 7th century BC to the 19th century. Also noteworthy is the reproduction of the Iberian treasure found in the town.
